Hydrogenated resin cover hydrogenated C5,hydrogenated C9,hydrogenated DCPD,hydrogenated rosin resin and other types.Although hydrogenation treatment improves their anti-oxidation and anti-yellowing performance compared with ordinary petroleum resins,they are still sensitive to high temperature,light,moisture and strong oxidants.Improper storage will cause moisture agglomeration,oxidative yellowing,abnormal viscosity,precipitation and blooming.Strictly follow the storage specifications below to fully retain the original color,weather resistance and tackifying performance and extend the shelf life.
一.Basic Warehouse Environment Requirements
1.Temperature Control
Store indoors away from light all the time.The warehouse temperature shall be kept at 15–30℃,and shall not exceed 35℃at maximum.Keep away from heat sources such as heat conduction pipelines,boilers,drying equipment and windows with direct sunlight.High temperature accelerates molecular oxidation of resins;light water-white hydrogenated resins are prone to yellowing,and particles will soften and stick under pressure.
2.Humidity Standard
Keep the warehouse dry and ventilated with relative humidity below 85%,preferably under 50%.Take moisture-proof and anti-seepage measures in rainy seasons,lay moisture-proof pallets on the ground to prevent resin moisture absorption caused by ground damp or rain leakage,which will generate bubbles and pinholes during hot-melt processing.
3.Warehouse Zoning&Isolation
Store hydrogenated resins in separate zones.Do not store together with strong oxidants,strong acids,strong alkalis,organic solvents and flammable&explosive materials.Avoid long-term contact between volatile chemical gas and resin surface,which will damage molecular stability and lead to delamination and decreased adhesion in later formula blending.
二.Packaging&Sealing Management
Hydrogenated resins are generally packed in 25kg kraft paper bags with PE inner film,bulk bags or sealed paper drums.The core of storage is full sealing:
1.1Keep complete original packages and winding films for unopened palletized materials,and do not tear the inner film arbitrarily to isolate air and moisture;
2.Arrange materials with damaged packages or cracked inner films for production first,and seal damaged areas with waterproof adhesive tape to prevent long-term oxidative discoloration;
3.3Use up opened materials within 30 days as far as possible.Tighten the inner film bag and seal the outer bag immediately for leftover resins,mark the opening date,and never leave open.Long-term open storage will reduce weather resistance,deepen the color of light-colored resins and intensify odor.
三.Stacking Specifications to Prevent Compaction&Agglomeration
1.Stack all resin bags on plastic or wooden pallets at least 10cm off the ground to isolate ground moisture;direct stacking on the floor is prohibited.
2.Strictly control stacking height:no more than 6 layers for ordinary 25kg bags,reduced to 4 layers in high-temperature seasons.Excessively high stacks will cause long-term pressure on bottom resins,softening and agglomerating particles,which are hard to melt and disperse during feeding.
3.Reserve ventilation channels between stacks to ensure air circulation and avoid heat accumulation inside stacks.Do not squeeze or scratch packages with heavy objects or sharp tools to prevent material leakage,moisture and pollution.
四.Inventory Turnover&Shelf Life Management
1.Adopt the"first in,first out"inventory rule,partition materials by delivery batch,and use earlier stocked materials first to avoid aging from long-term storage.Shorten turnover cycle in hot summer to reduce long-term storage risks.
2.Under standard sealed storage conditions,the shelf life of granular hydrogenated resin is 12–24 months.Before putting expired materials into production,conduct small tests to detect color,melting state and compatibility to confirm no yellowing,agglomeration or precipitation before mass use.
3.Inspect inventory regularly to check package tightness,stack temperature,damp agglomeration and discoloration.Isolate abnormal materials separately and use them by batch.
五.Safety&Operation Precautions
1.Equip the warehouse with ventilation,dust removal and fire-fighting facilities.No smoking or open flame operation in the warehouse to implement fire prevention control.
2.Avoid scratching packages with iron hooks or sharp tools during loading,unloading and transportation.Handle with care to reduce resin dust.Operators shall wear dust masks and gloves to prevent long-term inhalation of resin dust.
3.Fully cover with tarpaulin during transit and transfer to avoid rain and sunlight.Temporary storage during transit shall also follow cool,dry and sealed requirements;overnight outdoor stacking is forbidden.
The core storage principles of hydrogenated resin are temperature control,humidity control,light avoidance,full sealing,anti-compaction and isolation of hazardous chemicals.Standardized storage can stably maintain the core advantages of resins such as light color,low odor,wide compatibility and anti-aging,avoid production losses including yellowing,poor adhesion and appearance defects of finished adhesives,inks and rubber-plastic products caused by storage deterioration,and effectively reduce raw material scrapping and production costs.
