Storage Management Specification for C5 Hydrogenated Petroleum Resin

　　C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin is a modified solid hydrocarbon polymer material.It features light color,excellent compatibility and good thermal stability,yet it is prone to caking under moisture and compression,and its dust is liable to accumulate static electricity.It is widely applied in adhesives,hot melt adhesives,coatings,rubber modification and other industries.To standardize the whole process of warehousing,storage,custody and outbound delivery,stabilize the physical and chemical properties of materials,and avoid quality deterioration,caking and potential fire hazards caused by moisture absorption,this special storage guideline is formulated in accordance with the MSDS safety data of the material and the plant warehouse management requirements.All warehouse and loading/unloading staff shall comply with the specifications strictly.

　　I.Basic Environmental Requirements for C5 Hydrogenated Petroleum Resin Warehouse

　　1.Temperature Control(Core Measure to Prevent Caking)

　　Store indoors at constant temperature with an optimal range of 15～30°C,and the maximum temperature shall not exceed 30°C.Ventilation or cooling measures shall be adopted in hot summer.Long-term storage under excessive temperature will cause particle softening and adhesion,color darkening and decline of tackifying performance.Storage near windows,heating equipment,steam pipelines,ovens and other heat sources is prohibited.

　　2.Humidity Control(Moisture-Proof Treatment)

　　The relative humidity of the warehouse shall be≤60%.Keep the warehouse dry and ventilated,and install dehumidifiers in rainy seasons.Though insoluble in water,the resin tends to cake after moisture absorption,which leads to feeding blockage and bubble generation during processing.The ground shall be hardened and impermeable to prevent ground moisture from rising.

　　3.Light and Rain Protection

　　Storage shall be fully indoors with direct sunlight strictly forbidden.Ultraviolet rays will damage the hydrogenated structure,resulting in darker color and poor weather resistance.Doors and windows shall be well sealed against rain to avoid soaking the goods.

　　4.Ventilation Standard

　　Maintain continuous ventilation in the warehouse to reduce accumulated resin dust.Suspended dust may trigger combustion and explosion risks under static electricity,so airtight storage is not allowed.

　　II.Warehouse Site and Fire Safety Management

　　1.Warehouse Classification

　　Store in Class II C solid raw material warehouse equipped with explosion-proof LED lights,smoke detectors,dry powder fire extinguishers and fire sprinkler systems.Open flames,electric welding and smoking are completely banned inside the warehouse.

　　2.Separate Storage Requirements

　　Reserve an independent storage zone.Keep a separation distance of no less than 3 meters from strong oxidants,strong acids,strong alkalis,organic solvents,printing inks and paint raw materials to avoid chemical reactions contaminating the resin.

　　3.Static Electricity Prevention

　　Adopt anti-static ground treatment,and keep forklifts and turnover tools grounded.Staff are forbidden to wear chemical fiber clothes during operation to reduce dust generation and static buildup caused by friction.

　　III.Stacking and Palletizing Specifications

　　1.Clearance from Ground and Walls

　　All C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin shall be stored on plastic or wooden pallets,with a ground clearance of 10～15 cm and wall clearance of no less than 30 cm,so as to isolate ground moisture and facilitate ventilation and inspection.

　　2.Stack Height Limit

　　25kg bagged products:maximum 6 layers(total height≤1.5 m)

　　500kg bulk bags:single-layer placement only,no overlapping stacking

　　Excessively high stacks will cause heating and caking of the bottom layer materials,as well as package breakage and material leakage.

　　3.Passage and Identification Management

　　Reserve a main safety passage of no less than 1.2 m.Separate storage zones for different grades and batches,hang material cards marked with batch number and production date,and implement the FIFO(First In,First Out)principle.

　　4.Loading and Unloading Protection

　　Do not use iron hooks or sharp tools to puncture packaging bags,which may damage the inner PE film and cause moisture absorption and powder leakage.Handle goods gently to minimize dust generation.

　　IV.Package Sealing Management(Critical to Storage Life)

　　1.Storage of Unopened Original Packages

　　Standard packages include 25kg bags lined with PE inner film plus three-layer kraft paper/plastic woven bags,and bulk ton bags.Keep the double-layer internal and external seal intact for unopened goods;do not remove the inner film.

　　2.Storage after Package Opening

　　Tie the inner PE film and outer bag tightly immediately for unused resin after opening,and consume the remainder within 30 days.Long-term open storage will easily lead to moisture absorption and oxidative yellowing.

　　3.Handling of Damaged Packages

　　Transfer materials from broken bags to new sealed bags.Collect scattered dust separately for recycling,and avoid mixing it with intact raw materials.

　　V.Storage Life and Daily Inspection

　　1.Shelf Life

　　Under standard cool,dry and sealed storage conditions,the shelf life of C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin is 2 years counted from the production date.Re-inspect color,softening point and compatibility before using expired materials;the materials can only be fed into production after passing inspection.

　　2.Daily Inspection Items

　　Record temperature and humidity,and increase inspection frequency during high temperature and high humidity periods;

　　Check stacks for caking,material leakage and water stains caused by moisture;

　　Inspect potential hazards including open flames,static electricity and mixed storage with oxidants;

　　Clean scattered resin dust on the ground timely to prevent accumulation.

　　VI.Prohibited Operations

　　Open-air stacking and open-air transshipment are forbidden;

　　Co-storage with high-temperature heat sources and flammable&explosive chemicals is forbidden;

　　Over-height stacking and long-term heavy extrusion of packages are forbidden;

　　Long-term open storage,rain exposure and soaking are forbidden;

　　Massive dust accumulation and any open flame or spark generation inside the warehouse are forbidden.

　　VII.Quick Memorization for Workshop On-site Use

　　Store indoors below 30°C with low humidity and no direct sunlight;place on pallets away from ground and walls,stack height limited to 1.5 m;keep double-layer sealed and implement FIFO;stay away from heat sources and oxidants,control dust,prevent fire and static electricity,with a 2-year shelf life.

　　These storage specifications apply to general grades of C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin.For special high-purity and light-color exclusive grades,lower warehouse temperature and strengthen light shielding protection on the basis of the above standards.All warehouse management personnel shall be fully aware of material risk points,conduct daily inspections and register ledgers strictly to minimize storage risks,ensure stable material quality and compliant safe warehouse operation.During plum rain and high-temperature extreme weather,upgrade storage control measures,shorten inspection intervals,and fully implement moisture-proof,cooling and dust-proof protection.
