C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin

C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin, also known as C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin,is mainly derived from the C5 fraction of ethylene cracking. These C5 fractions contain abundant diene and monoene components, which are further processed into C5 hydrogenated petroleum resins through cationic polymerization reactions.

Specifically,C5 fraction is a byproduct generated during the ethylene cracking process, which contains abundant olefin compounds such as dicyclopentadiene, cyclopentadiene, meta pentadiene, isoprene, etc. After undergoing pretreatment steps such as distillation, these olefin compounds can be used as raw materials for producing C5 hydrogenated petroleum resins.
During the production process, the diene and monoene components in the C5 fraction undergo cationic polymerization reactions under the action of catalysts, forming preliminary resin polymers.Subsequently, unreacted raw materials and by-products are removed through steps such as water washing, desolvation, and stripping to obtain preliminary resin products. Finally, after hydrogenation treatment, the quality and stability of the resin can be further improved, resulting in high-quality C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin.
In summary, the main raw material for C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin is the C5 fraction obtained from ethylene cracking, and the diene and monoene components in these fractions are key raw materials for resin synthesis.
